Lane Kiffin explains why weather delay vs. Clemson was an advantage for LSU

LSU head coach Lane Kiffin couldn’t have asked for a better start to his time in Baton Rouge after his Tigers dominated Clemson on Saturday night, 51-10. After an early turnover gave Clemson 3 points, LSU took complete control of the game and put together one of the best performances in Week 1.
They even had to overcome a weather delay, and the game was delayed for 90 minutes. Both teams had to hang out in their locker rooms during that time, and in Kiffin’s mind, that was an advantage for LSU.
“That (opponent’s locker room) locker room sucks over there,” Kiffin said. “If you haven’t figured out, my competitiveness in order to win. If I am going to go through all that other stuff with two players nationally… If I think 90 minutes is going to help us win that game, I am going to sit in the locker room for 90 minutes.”

LSU has been the talk of the college football world over the last couple weeks, but that was because of the potential fight with the NCAA and the SEC about bringing in players who were on NFL teams during the summer. In the end, Kiffin and his staff didn’t play those players, and it didn’t make a difference as LSU showed its potential against Clemson.
Up next for Kiffin and LSU is a home game against Louisiana Tech in Week 2.
