Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin praised Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton ahead of their matchup this weekend.
Ole Miss is currently undefeated and coming off a hard-fought win over Washington State, 24-21. The Rebels’ defense struggled to slow down Washington State, allowing them 345 total yards of offense; however, the Rebels did stay strong on 3rd down, holding Wazzu to 2/10 in the key situation. Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss completed 20 of his 29 passes for 253 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Bulldogs are coming off a night win in Jordan-Hare over the Auburn Tigers. After being dominated the entire 1st half, the Bulldogs put up 17 unanswered points in the 2nd half to win the game 20-10. Georgia struggled to run the ball, as Stockton was the leading rusher with 26 yards. Stockton and the offense need to be clicking this weekend in order to beat Ole Miss.
Even though Stockton and the offense struggled, Kiffin knows how good Stockton and the entire Georgia team are.
“Savvy, makes a lot plays, plays alive,” Kiffin said to describe the UGA quarterback. “They’ve done a really good job with him at winning, and they’re a really complete team.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Oct. 18.
