The crew of College GameDay was on site at the iconic Rose Bowl on Saturday in anticipation of the remaining CFP quarterfinal matchups set to take place later that day, capping off the show by making their picks for who they believe will punch their tickets to the semifinals.
When it came to the Sugar Bowl rematch between the Ole Miss Rebels and the Georgia Bulldogs, everybody around the GameDay table picked the Dawgs to come out on top against the Rebs.
This led former Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin to take to X to express his disappointment over the GameDay crew’s lack of faith in his former team in classic Lane Kiffin fashion.
Kiffin departed from Oxford for LSU in extremely dramatic fashion earlier in the season, but he is obviously still deeply invested in the team that he shepherded to an 11-1 finish before he left.
Most reports at the time of Kiffin’s departure from Ole Miss said that he was adamant on sticking around to lead the Rebels through the Playoff before leaving for LSU, a request that the administration at Ole Miss emphatically denied.
He may not be on the sideline for the Rebels any longer, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t pulling for star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and the rest of the team he recruited to Ole Miss as they make a run at a National Championship.
