Lane Kiffin recalls Miss Terry sprinkling holy water before Nick Saban’s return to Tiger Stadium

Lane Kiffin shared a hilarious story on Thursday while speaking with SEC Now, recalling his time as an offensive coordinator under Nick Saban at Alabama.
First, though, some context.
Kiffin and Saban both appeared on SEC Now during Day 4 of SEC Media Days, the unofficial kickoff of the SEC football season. While at the desk, Saban mentioned to Kiffin that he should give him a call when LSU travels to Ole Miss so he can give him some pointers on how to navigate the surely hostile Rebels crowd.
“You’re going to break the record for the ass-kicking you get for the place you go back,” Saban told Kiffin. “Because I have it right now when I went back to LSU after leaving and going to Alabama. I’ll give you some coaching points on how to get through that.”
Kiffin responded that he actually might need Saban’s wife, Miss Terry. He then recalled a story from when he was at Alabama and the Crimson Tide travelled to Baton Rouge to play the Tigers. Before the game, Kiffin noticed Miss Terry sprinkling holy water on the ground.
“I’m walking on the sidelines for the LSU game, they still dislike him at the time, they’re yelling stuff at him, she’s got this stuff and she’s putting it on the ground, and I’m like ‘what are you doing?’ and she’s like ‘there’s real voodoo here, they don’t like Nick here so I’ve got to spread this stuff out to make sure he’s okay.'”

It’s worth noting that Alabama won both games at LSU during Kiffin’s time as the Crimson Tide’s OC.
Kiffin and the LSU Tigers travel to Ole Miss on September 19 for a game that’s sure to host College GameDay and break a record for hostile fans.
