In a high-scoring affair, Ole Miss couldn’t do enough at the end, and suffered a 53-48 loss at LSU in a game that finished in a driving rain storm.

QB Matt Corral had five interceptions and a fumble in the loss, and LSU scored 33 points off those turnovers. Ole Miss finished the regular season with a 4-5 record.

Here’s a sampling of what coach Lane Kiffin shared with the media:

“Tough one to handle. You know, in Tiger Stadium, defending national champs. It’s just frustrating these games..we didn’t finish it. We turn the ball over 6 times. Just really frustrated. We need to win games and we’re going to do that.”
“We wasted some timeouts. We like to pride ourselves that we don’t do that, but we did. We didn’t finish it.”
Kiffin on last drive: “Just like Auburn game, frustrated to come back, get the ball back with the lead and don’t finish it. Just not really good looking football.”
“Not making excuses, Elijah not being there. Mingo had to play inside which he really hadn’t done. We didn’t execute really well, but played really hard and competed really hard and tried to win.”
Kiffin on Henry Parrish: “He just makes plays when he goes in there. He does that in practice and does that when we put him in games. He’s got a very bright future here.”
Kiffin on Corral’s turnovers today: “We didn’t put him in a good position. I don’t think we did a great job as a staff today.”
“We started slow in some areas, no spring ball, first year staff. Hit a run, played really well and should have finished it off tonight. Just wish we could have finished on a better note for the players, especially the older guys. This one will hurt for a while.”
