The Lane Kiffin saga appears to be drawing to a close.

According to ESPN’s Marty Smith, who has been in Oxford this weekend covering this situation extensively, Kiffin has scheduled a team meeting for 9 a.m. local time on Sunday morning. Smith’s report says an announcement regarding Kiffin’s future will come shortly after the team meeting.

Although things could still change, Kiffin is expected to be named the next head coach at LSU in the coming days. LSU officials have expressed confidence to multiple reporters this weekend about its pursuit of Kiffin. According to one report, LSU has already arranged for multiple private planes to pick up Kiffin and his family in Oxford on Sunday.

If Kiffin does leave Ole Miss, the Rebels would presumably enter their first-ever College Football Playoff run with an interim head coach. Ole Miss is expected to host a first-round Playoff game next month after completing an 11-1 regular season.

Kiffin met with Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter and other administrators on Saturday afternoon. Per ESPN’s Marty Smith, Ole Miss executives left that meeting feeling as though Kiffin had a “desire” to take the LSU coaching job.

Kalshi, a prediction market that’s legal in the United States, has posted odds on when (or if) Kiffin will ultimately leave Ole Miss. Here’s a live look at that market:
