Lane Kiffin didn’t know how the Dallas Turner hit on Jayden Daniels wasn’t targeting at Tuesday’s presser.

LSU played at Alabama on Saturday as Turner hit Daniels late after the ball left the LSU quarterback’s hands. The referees determined that there was no targeting as Daniels went into concussion protocol.

Daniels came back in for 1 play but wasn’t able to continue and exited the game.

Kiffin believed plays like that could lead to a problem. Kiffin said that defensive players might see that and think it’s alright to make those kinds of hits.

“I don’t know how that’s not targeting,” said Kiffin. “If it’s not, then I think you’ve got a problem that it’s ok where defensive players watch and go, ‘Oh I can do that and I can stay in a game and take the other team’s quarterback out.’ That’s an issue.”

LSU ended up losing to Alabama 42-28 in Tuscaloosa.

Ole Miss has already played the best team in the SEC West and must now do the same with the SEC East.

Ole Miss goes on the road to Athens to play Georgia next. Georgia last played in Ole Miss in 2016 and lost 45-14, however the game was vacated.

Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
