Lane Kiffin isn’t Trinidad Chambliss’ head coach anymore, but it doesn’t mean LSU‘s new head man doesn’t have an eye on what’s going on with his former quarterback at Ole Miss.

Chambliss’ injunction hearing was going on Thursday, as the signal-caller who took Oxford by storm in 2025 seeks to play for Ole Miss again in 2026. With Chambliss’ battle against the NCAA raging on, Kiffin quoted a tweet from On3’s Brad Logan that had 2 photos attached from the courtroom proceedings.

Kiffin, never bashful about sharing his feelings on any subject about any program, whether his own or another one, was showing his displeasure with what was happening with Chambliss. The quarterback who took over the starting job during the season and led the Rebels to within 2 victories of a national title continued his off-the-field fight to remain on a college football field this fall.

While Lane Kiffin has his own program to worry about in Baton Rouge now, Chambliss was once his guy, not too long ago in fact, so it was no surprise that Kiffin had something to say about his former QB’s fight to remain in college football.

The NCAA said no to Chambliss’ future college eligibility on Feb. 4, but the quarterback and Ole Miss have filed a “reconsideration to the NCAA” and are also seeking help from Mississippi’s state legal system.

The ordeal is still ongoing as Chambliss seeks an injunction, and Chambliss’ former coach felt the need to weigh in on the latest proceedings on Thursday.

If Chambliss ultimately wins this battle and is allowed to play in 2026, it would be his 6th season in college football.
