Lane Kiffin uses sarcasm to jab SEC over move to 9-game conference schedule

Coming off the first loss of his tenure with LSU, Lane Kiffin is taking a sarcastic jab at the SEC. Kiffin called out the conference over the move to a 9-game conference schedule, which resulted in a second straight season for LSU playing at Ole Miss.
While still Ole Miss‘ head coach last season, Kiffin earned a 24-19 victory vs. LSU. Kiffin was on the wrong end this time with a 32-24 defeat in his return to Oxford. Despite the loss, LSU only dropped to No. 10 in the AP poll.
Now the brilliant but polarizing head coach is making headlines once again with his latest complaint. Kiffin sounded off during Wednesday’s SEC Teleconference.
“These are the scheduling quirks that come with our awesome move to nine (SEC) games, that has sure looked so great lately,” Kiffin said.
The flip side of it is that LSU also gets to host Texas A&M, its Week 4 opponent, 2 years in a row because of the scheduling quirks.
Texas A&M at LSU is slated for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff and will be televised on ABC. LSU will look for its first win vs. Texas A&M since a 42-30 win on Nov. 25, 2023.
