South Carolia quarterback LaNorris Sellers limped off the field with help from the Gamecocks training staff after suffering an apparent ankle injury in the second quarter of Saturday’s game against Texas A&M.

Sellers immediately entered the medical tent following this play, a sack-fumble that resulted in Texas A&M possession. He later returned to the South Carolina locker room after a few minutes of examination. As you can see, Sellers appeared to have his ankle rolled up on by a Texas A&M defender as the pocket collapsed around him.

Sellers was off to a fantastic start to Saturday’s game. He’s sitting at 10-of-15 completions on the afternoon with 151 yards and a passing touchdown to Mazeo Bennett Jr. The Gamecocks lead 7-3 and were threatening to score before Sellers’ injury and simultaneous loss of possession.

As you can see from the ESPN graphic above, South Carolina is 5-3 on the season and looking to keep its College Football Playoff hopes alive. The scant hopes the Gamecocks have remaining lie in Sellers’ ability to guide this team to a perfect record across a November slate that includes matchups against Arkansas, Georgia and Clemson alongside their matchup against the Aggies on Saturday.
