Long-time college football television star Lee Corso made a triumphant return to the set of ESPN’s “College GameDay” on Saturday after he spent last year broadcasting from his home.
Fans and his colleagues alike welcomed his return, and the long-time coach became emotional at the start of the show.
Host Rece Davis said, “One of the things I’m most excited about with the return of the college football season, Lee Corso reassuming his rightful place on the College GameDay set. Welcome back, my friend.”
Replied Corso, “Rece, last year was the first time I missed being on the GameDay set in 28 years. I miss you guys and I missed the crowd. Kirk, it’s great to be back.”
Kirk Herbstreit then added, “On behalf of all of us, right, and the college football fans, welcome back, it’s great to have you in person. Lee Corso!”
