9-time Grammy Award winning artist Sherly Crow announced on Tuesday that she will be performing the national anthem at Missouri football‘s season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on September 3. Kickoff in CoMo, as it’s called, is set to kick off the Thursday before Week 1.

Here’s Crow’s announcement, via X:

Crow was born in Kennett, Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri in 1984 with a degree in music education. Right out of college, she put that music education degree to work with a job as an elementary school music teacher.

Of course, she’s known for much more than that. Crow’s music blends rock with country and pop, including hits such as “All I Wanna Do” and “Everyday Is a Winding Road.” Across her music career Crow has sold 50 million albums, and she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.

The Tigers are set to kick off Year 7 of the Eli Drinkwitz era on September 3. Mizzou has promise heading into the new season with a strong offensive line and elite running back Ahmad Hardy in the backfield. Missouri has some question marks on defense, but there’s a lot to like heading into the new season.

The Kickoff in CoMo is set to start at 7 p.m. CT and will be aired on SEC Network.
