Leonard Fournette and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers completed an improbable comeback on Sunday night with less than a minute remaining in the NFC Divisional Playoffs.
Fournette scored on a 9-yard touchdown with 42 seconds left to pull the Buccaneers into a tie, 27-27, as he converted a fourth down and one and then some. But it ultimately wasn’t enough as the Los Angeles Rams drove 63 yards and won the game on a last-second field goal, to prevail 30-27.
The Bucs came back from trailing 27-3, thanks to a flurry of scoring, as Tampa Bay outscored Los Angeles 24-10 in the second half, after the Rams held a 20-3 lead at halftime.
The Rams’ 4 lost fumbles were a key component to the comeback, as the fourth setup Tampa Bay’s game-tying score.
However, just when it appeared Tom Brady would deliver yet another improbable comeback following the 28-3 deficit he overcame against the Atlanta Falcons in the 2017 Super Bowl.
Matthew Stafford led the Rams on a 5-play scoring drive, as he connected on 2 pass plays to Cooper Kupp on plays of 20 yards and 44 yards.
Matt Gay then hit a 30-yard field goal with 3 seconds remaining.
