Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry responds to LSU’s Princewill Umanmielen being served in lawsuit, trash talks Ole Miss

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has become heavily involved with LSU sports recently, as he played a big role in getting Lane Kiffin to Baton Rouge. On Wednesday, Landry went on social media to call out Ole Miss for the lawsuit against LSU defensive star Princewill Umanmielen.
“The process server found Princewill in the LSU Football Ops parking lot,” Landry tweeted. “Keith Carter could have saved Ole Miss some money and waited until Saturday. He’ll be easy to find in the Ole Miss backfield often!”
Last season, Umanmielen had 45 tackles and nine sacks for the Rebels as he helped them make it all the way to the College Football Playoff semifinals before losing to Miami. He decided to transfer in the off-season to LSU and follow Kiffin.
On July 27, the Rebels announced they were suing Umanmielen and offensive lineman Devin Harper in a breach of contract.
The timing of this is obviously very intriguing, as Ole Miss and LSU are facing off on Saturday in Oxford. The stakes and drama were going to be extremely high anyways for this game, but this is just another layer to what should be an incredible day on Saturday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
