Louisville running back Isaac Brown is expected to be “ready to go” for the Cardinals’ season-opener with Ole Miss on Sunday.
Brown is regarded as one of the very best running backs in the nation, but has been considered questionable for the start of the season due to injury. Brown was limited for offseason workouts due to unspecified lower-body injuries.
Head coach Jeff Brohm told reporters on Monday that he’s “had a good camp” and is “fresh and ready” for Ole Miss.

Brown has led the ACC in yards per carry in each of his first 2 seasons with the Cardinals. In 2025, he totaled 884 yards in 9 games while averaging an impressive 8.8 yards per carry. He has 18 rushing touchdowns in his career as well.
Brown has cleared the 100-yard threshold in 11 of 22 career games at the collegiate level. That includes games against Kentucky, Clemson, SMU and Miami, among others. His career-high is 205 yards, which he accomplished against Boston College in 2025.
He’ll be facing an Ole Miss defense that ranked 13th in the SEC in yards per carry allowed last season.
According to Underdog, Brown’s rushing projection for Sunday’s game has been set at 67.5 yards.
