The LSU Tigers added a commitment from 4-star running back Tre Segarra on Tuesday, one of the best running backs in the 2027 cycle. Segarra hails from Byrnes HS in Duncan, South Carolina and is considered to be the No. 7 running back in the country per247Sports’ rankings.
Segarra stands at 5-foot-10, 210 pounds and is an impressive athlete with a soccer and track background. He rushed for just under 1500 yards with 17 touchdowns at 8.9 yards per carry while adding 4 receiving touchdowns as a junior.
As you can see below, Segarra picked the Tigers over offer from Tennessee, South Carolina and Stanford, having received interest from Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Miami and many other top programs.
Segarra is the second running back commitment of the 2027 cycle for LSU, joining 3-star RB Brennen Lacey out of Frisco, Texas. As it currently stands, Segarra is the 5th highest-rated member of LSU’s 2027 class, just behind 5-stars KJ Green and Ahmad Hudson as well as 4-stars Terrance Smith and Peyton Houston.
In addition to being the No. 7 overall RB prospect in the Class of 2027, Segarra is considered to be the No. 134 overall prospect and the No. 3 player out of South Carolina.
