LSU football added a commitment from Class of 2027 athlete Braylon Calais on Monday night. The standout 4-star prospect picked the Tigers over the likes of Ohio State, Miami and Texas A&M.
Explaining his reasoning for choosing LSU to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals, Calais said, “Who wouldn’t want to go to LSU with arguably the best coach in college football?”
Standing at 6-2, 200 pounds, Calais plays multiple positions for Cecelia high school in Carencro, Louisiana, which is located just north of Lafayette. He’s considered a wide receiver by a few recruiting services, but also played defensive back and, according to 247Sports’ Gabe Brooks, his highest ceiling could be in the defensive backfield.
As it stands currently, Calais is considered to be the No. 187 overall prospect in the Class of 2027, as well as the No. 8 ATH and No. 6 player out of Louisiana per 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Calais is the 4th addition to the Tigers’ Class of 2027 for Lane Kiffin and Co, which ranks 36th in the country. He joins 4-star edge rusher Jaiden Bryant, 4-star QB Peyton Houston (who committed before Kiffin arrived in Baton Rouge) and 4-star wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens.
