LSU sophomore cornerback Aidan Anding suffered a torn Achilles during Saturday’s scrimmage, meaning he’ll be missing extended time for the Tigers this season — if not the entire year.
Making it even worse, Anding posted an incredibly impressive outing on Saturday. He tore his Achilles while coming down with his second interception of the day.
Expect an update from Lane Kiffin when practice ends on Tuesday:
Anding was set to play a bigger role after his freshman season in Baton Rouge. He appeared in 8 games for LSU last season, totaling 2 tackles while spending most of his time on special teams. With PJ Woodland and DJ Rickett likely to start for the Tigers this season, Anding was working his way into a backup role and looked to be off to a hot start with his efforts on Saturday.
Anding joins a worrying trend of promising SEC players suffering injuries during spring camp. Alabama’s Noah Rogers will miss the start of the 2026 season after suffering a lower-body injury during A-Day, and LSU defensive end Gabriel Reliford tore his ACL a few weeks ago during the first week of drills.
