LSU kicked off the Lane Kiffin era in style with a 51-10 victory over Clemson in Baton Rouge. It also moved up a couple of spots in ESPN’s FPI after Week 1.

The Tigers started the season in the No. 9 spot. With the win, though, LSU goes up to No. 7, making it one of five SEC teams in the top five โ€” joining Texas (No. 1), Georgia (No. 5), Alabama (No. 9), and Texas A&M (No. 10). A total of 10 SEC teams are in the top 25.

LSU passed its first test of the season easily. It will stay at Death Valley for a Week 2 game against Louisiana Tech. A look at ESPN’s matchup predictor gives the Tigers a 98.1 percent chance of victory in that one.

After that, though, comes one of the most anticipated games of the season as Kiffin and the Tigers take on Ole Miss. It’s Kiffin’s first game in Oxford since leaving the Rebels program.
