LSU linebacker Whit Weeks hasn’t played since Week 4, when he fractured his right fibula against Texas A&M. That put a damper on a 2026 season that was getting off to a strong start.
There was, at least, the possibility of Weeks playing in the Tigers’ Week 10’s game against Alabama after he was listed as doubtful on Wednesday’s initial SEC availability report. However, according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, LSU is “expected to be without” the senior on Saturday.
“There had been hope he’d be able to get back for this matchup but (it) sounds like he’s not ready to return yet,” Zenitz said on X on Thursday evening.
Before going on the injury list, Weeks had recorded 23 tackles and 2.2 tackles for a loss in four games. The Watkinsville, Ga. native hasn’t been able to capitalize on his successful 2024 campaign, when he finished No. 2 in the SEC and No. 9 in FBS with 125 tackles. He was named to the All-SEC first team as a result.
Despite breaking his fibula in the 2024 Texas Bowl, he recovered from offseason surgery and was poised to contribute once more in 2025. But an ankle injury limited him to eight games, during which he posted 31 tackles and 3.0 TFLs.
