LSU saw its running back depth for the 2027 season and possibly beyond get weaker on Thursday afternoon after 3-star talent Brennen Lacey decided to decommit from the Tigers.

The Frisco, Texas, product announced his decommitment from LSU on social media.

Lacey, a 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect and current star at Frisco High School, wrote in his social media decommitment message, in part:

After a lot of thought, prayers and deep conversation with my family, I have decided to withdraw my verbal commitment to LSU and reopen my recruitment.

Thank you again for your understanding, support and for treating me like family. I wish you and the LSU Tiger the absolute best moving forward.

After originally committing to LSU on June 7, more than 4 months later Lacey has decided to look elsewhere for his first year of college ball in 2027.
