Alabama is having arguably its most difficult offseason in recent memory. The Crimson Tide have lost numerous players to the transfer portal this offseason following the retirement of longtime head coach Nick Saban. As of mid-January, there’s still quite a bit of uncertainty about what Alabama’s roster will look like in 2024.
Alabama hired Kalen DeBoer to take over for Saban as the Tide’s head coach. DeBoer is still working on finalizing his coaching staff and then will presumably begin building Alabama’s roster for next season.

LSU has also had a tumultuous offseason. The Tigers parted ways with 4 defensive assistant coaches following a disappointing 2023 season on that side of the ball.
Offensively, LSU does have some questions it will need to answer at the quarterback position. With Jayden Daniels headed to the NFL, LSU is expected to start Garrett Nussmeier in 2024. Nussmeier has thrown for 1,720 yards, 11 touchdowns and 7 interceptions so far in his collegiate career.
LSU will host Alabama on Nov. 9. A kickoff time for that game has not yet been announced.
