Hours after getting a commitment from KJ Green, one of the nation’s top edge rushers, LSU doubled its pleasure on Sunday by adding a Texas running back to its 2027 recruiting class.

Brennen Lacey, from Frisco, Tex., has pledged to the Tigers, making him the second 2027 commit of the day for Lane Kiffin‘s program.

Lacey, who stands at a shade under six feet and weighs in at 190 pounds, is ranked by 247Sports’ Composite as the nation’s No. 42 player at his position. He entered the day with 21 offers, including Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, TCU, and Texas Tech.

Lacey’s pledge brings LSU’s 2027 recruiting class to six players. Lacey makes the fourth offensive player to commit, joining tight end Ahmad Hudson, quarterback Peyton Houston, and wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens.

That number will grow by the end of the month now that high schools across the country are on summer break. Joshua Sam-Epelle, the nation’s No. 5 offensive tackle, and No. 15 safety Davion Jones are among the players set to take official visits the weekend of June 12-14.

During the weekend of June 19-21, four-star safety Jayden Anding, Hudson’s teammate at Ruston (La.) High School, is set to take an OV. The Tigers will also have four-star Greenwood (Miss.) linebacker Frederrick Ford on campus. Franklin Parish running back Trey Martin, the No. 13 player at his position, is due in on June 18.
