LSU has a talented quarterback pledged to its 2027 recruiting class in Peyton Houston, the nation’s No. 8 player at his position according to 247Sports.
Houston is one of the QBs at the annual Elite11 finals at the Nike campus in Beaverton, Oregon. So far, he’s made a strong impression. Elite11’s Day 2 rankings had him at No. 2, behind Nebraska commit Trae Taylor III:
Hayes Fawcett from On3 was on hand at the event and posted this video of Houston, who he said “put together one of the most impressive Pro Day performances.”
That’s just a taste of what LSU fans should expect from Houston, who was one of Brian Kelly’s commitments in September 2025. After Kelly was fired and Lane Kiffin took the reins, the Shreveport native remained pledged to the program.
Houston put together a monster junior season for Evangel Christian Academy. He threw for 3,836 yards and 42 touchdowns versus just nine interceptions. On the ground, he took 92 carries for 942 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Knowing Kiffin’s background with quarterbacks throughout his coaching career, LSU fans should be excited for what Houston can bring to the program. And if what he’s done in high school and at Elite11 is any indication, the Tigers have themselves a star in the making.
