New LSU coach Lane Kiffin could have found himself another diamond-in-the-rough quarterback Sunday, utilizing the transfer portal to reportedly land FCS standout Landen Clark from Elon.

On3 reported that Clark, who has three seasons of eligibility remaining, committed to LSU after a multi-day visit to Baton Rouge.

Clark hit the transfer portal Friday as a dual-threat talent – as he passed for 2,321 yards and 18 touchdowns against eight interceptions while also rushing for 614 yards and 11 more scores as a redshirt freshman for the Phoenix.

LSU has been shopping for a quarterback in the transfer portal since it opened Jan. 2, including a pursuit of former Arizona State standout Sam Leavitt. Adding Clark to a quarterback room depleted by the graduation of Garrett Nussmeier and transfers by Michael Van Buren Jr., Colin Hurley, and Ju’Juan Johnson.

Kiffin and the Tigers are still expected to pursue more proven FBS quarterbacks in this transfer cycle as they prepare for the 2026 campaign.

Elon went 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the Colonial Athletic Conference in 2025. The Phoenix were 44th nationally in scoring, putting up 28.8 points per game.
