LSU sees 5-star edge defender decommit, flip to Miami

Jaiden Bryant was one of the first big 2027 commitments for Lane Kiffin‘s staff. committing to LSU in January. On Wednesday, Bryant revealed that he no longer plans to begin his college football career in Baton Rouge.

Bryant is now committed to Mario Cristobal’s Miami Hurricanes. He made the announcement on social media with help from Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.

Out of Columbia (South Carolina) Irmo High School, Bryant is listed as measuring 6-3 and 260 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Bryant is rated 5-stars, the No. 1 player in the state of South Carolina, No. 2 edge defender and No. 20 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.

The departure of Bryant means LSU sits at 4 verbal commitments. All 4 prospects are rated 4- or 5-stars. The small class size, though, has the class at No. 61 nationally on the Composite.

The Hurricanes now have 18 commitments in a class that ranks No. 3 overall on the Composite.
