Last season, the Texas A&M Aggies made mincemeat of the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, beating them 49-25. The Tigers returned the favor in 2026, dispatching the Aggies 35-6 on Saturday night.
Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed had an atrocious night, throwing for just 106 yards in the loss. Sunday morning, LSU took the opportunity to troll Reed — who once declared Death Valley was “underwhelming” — in a defensive highlight montage.
To be fair to Reed, his observation was regarding the environment for a noon ET kickoff in late November 2023.
“[That] wasn’t a night game… so [it was] a little underwhelming,” Reed said on The Triple Option podcast ahead of the 2025 Texas A&M-LSU matchup. “I’m just really excited to see what the atmosphere is like. You know, I’ve heard a lot of things. I’ve heard the fans are crazy. They do all types of stuff.”
This go-round, the “stuff” Tiger fans did was potentially bury the Aggies’ 2026 season. Texas A&M (2-2, 0-2 SEC) has practically no margin for error in chasing a return to the College Football Playoff. Mike Elko‘s team faces the Arkansas Razorbacks at home — in what is the closest thing to a rebound opportunity the conference can offer — in Week 5.
