The Lane Kiffin coaching carousel saga is finally coming to a head, with the sixth-year head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels expected to make a decision on whether he is staying or going at some point during the last Saturday of the college football regular season.

All signs point towards Kiffin either staying put in Oxford and signing a long-term extension or departing for Baton Rouge to become the next head coach for the LSU Tigers.

FOX Sports insider Bruce Feldman joined the crew of Big Noon Kickoff to discuss the latest developments in the Kiffin saga, and he reported that the folks in Baton Rouge are “very confident” they will end up landing Kiffin.

“LSU has offered Lane a 7-year deal in the neighborhood of $100 million,” Feldman said. “… I talked to LSU sources this morning, and they are very confident that Lane Kiffin is going to come to Baton Rouge and accept the Tigers’ job. Ole Miss has done everything it can to keep him, and obviously, there’s an emotional piece to this that he would get to coach his team in the playoff, but the lure of LSU may be too tempting to pass up.”

After Friday’s Egg Bowl victory, the Rebels are more than likely a lock for the College Football Playoff, but whether or not they have Kiffin or somebody else leading them into battle is yet to be decided.
