Jalen Mills wants to ensure LSU never tastes bitter defeat again this season.
The veteran safety reportedly delivered an emotional speech to his teammates following last week’s loss to Alabama, stressing the importance of focusing on the long-term goal that is continuing to improve and get back to playing LSU football.
Reveille was first to report Mills’ “super emotional” speech:
โJust keep fighting,โ Mills said to the No. 9 Tigers. โReally show the world, and everybody, that this team can still be in it. This team has a lot of football left in yet.โ
His message was well received, Miles said. Redshirt freshman William Clapp and Godchaux had their own thoughts about Millsโ address.
โHe wanted to make sure that we all understood that the season is still not over,โ Clapp said. โItโs just one loss, we still have a lot to play for. He wanted to make sure that we donโt dwell on this loss, and make sure we donโt let it define us.
LSU hosts Arkansas on Saturday night and is still very much alive in the SEC Championship and College Football Playoff race. If the Tigers win and Mississippi State upends Alabama, LSU has a direct path to Atlanta and the final four.
