One of Florida’s top targets in the class of 2027 is nearing a final decision.
According to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, 4-star offensive tackle prospect Elijah Hutcheson will announce his commitment on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET. He’s set to announce his choice on the Rivals YouTube channel.
Hutcheson is still considering Florida, Clemson, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.
Hutcheson is an elite prospect in the class of 2027. He’s currently ranked as the No. 85 overall player and the No. 7 offensive tackle in the nation for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 2 recruit from the state of Virginia.

Hutcheson attends North Cross High School in Roanoke, Virginia. He is listed at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds.
Florida has been recruiting Hutcheson for over a year โ he first received an offer from the Gators back in March of 2025 and has continued to receive interest from UF under Jon Sumrall. Other finalists such as Clemson and Virginia Tech didn’t offer Hutcheson a scholarship until earlier this calendar year.
If the Gators do land his commitment, he would be their 3rd offensive lineman to commit so far. Florida has 10 commits overall so far in this cycle. UF’s class currently ranks No. 12 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
