Florida QB Malik Zaire still has a chance to get a sixth year of NCAA eligibility, but it doesn’t sound like he’ll pursue it too heavily.

However, the former Gator sounds like he wants to give the NFL a shot. Though he likely won’t be drafted in the 2018 NFL Draft, he should get his chance to work out for teams following the draft.

On Wednesday, Zaire tweeted that he’d love to go to the Cleveland Browns, even as quarterbacks like Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen express concerns about playing for the currently 0-15 team:

Zaire had plenty of bad luck with injuries in his college career, so no one really knows what he can do when he starts for a full season. He’s shown flashes of brilliance, but simply hasn’t been able to stay healthy.

Interestingly, the Browns’ current starter is DeShone Kizer, who beat out Zaire for the Notre Dame starting job last year, leading to Zaire’s transfer to Florida. It would be fun to see the two former Notre Dame quarterbacks compete for a starting job once again.
