Marcel Reed seen holding hamstring, jogging gingerly before end of first half, per report

Marcel Reed’s team was leading at halftime on Saturday, but there was concern for No. 10 Texas A&M as its Week 2 home matchup against Arizona State went to halftime.
That’s because, according to a report by Texas A&M writer Travis L. Brown, who covers the Aggies for KBTX Sports, Reed was seen by ABC cameras “jogging gingerly and holding his hamstring … as the half came to a close.”
The showdown was being televised by ABC, so the network was obviously all over this, with Reed being arguably the most important player for Texas A&M. Reed put up modest stats during the first half, as the Aggies held onto a precarious 17-10 lead over the Sun Devils.
Reed was 10 of 16 for 76 yards, with 1 touchdown pass and 0 interceptions during the first 30 minutes. The senior quarterback also was leading his team in rushing at halftime, carrying the ball 3 times for 24 yards.
There was nothing in Brown’s report about what might have caused Reed to be jogging so gingerly while holding that hamstring, but it certainly was something to keep an eye on as the 2nd half progressed in College Station.
