The 2025 college football coaching carousel is starting to spin faster and faster as the end of the regular season approaches, and rumors regarding some of the nation’s top coaches are continuing to fly.
One coach in particular who has had his name linked to several top openings over the past few weeks has been Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman, who is viewed by many as one of the best young coaches in all of college football.
While his name may be getting thrown around in coaching searches by other people, though, Freeman recently told On3’s Chris Low that his focus remains solely on Notre Dame.
“If my name is being mentioned for another job, that’s somebody else’s noise,” Freeman told Low. “That ain’t the noise that Marcus Freeman is putting in his mind.”

Since taking over for Brian Kelly, Freeman has become one of the best coaches in all of college football, keeping the Fighting Irish in the upper echelon of the sport.
As of this writing, he holds a 40-12 record as a head coach, has gone 14-5 against ranked opponents, and led Notre Dame all the way to the CFP National Championship game last season.
Notre Dame will face Pittsburgh in a top-25 matchup on Saturday.
