Mario Cristobal has no doubt that Carson Beck has arrived at the perfect place for him to thrive in 2025.

The Miami head coach knows Beck isn’t your typical college football transfer, or even your typical transfer quarterback. Beck’s decorated career at Georgia ended prematurely after he suffered an elbow injury in last season’s SEC title game against Texas. Not only did Beck not get to finish out that game, which the Bulldogs won in overtime, but he didn’t play another snap for Kirby Smart, having season-ending surgery a few weeks later. He was forced to helplessly watch as Georgia lost to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff.

It was the worst way Beck’s time at Georgia could’ve ended, but the spring offered a new beginning for Beck at Miami. Although he couldn’t throw the ball at all during the Hurricanes’ spring camp because he was still recovering from the elbow surgery, Beck was cleared to throw after spring practice ended and he’s been doing just that recently.

Cristobal has no doubt that Beck will be ready to roll when the Canes open fall camp in late July in the leadup to the much-anticipated season opener against Notre Dame.

Cristobal also has no doubt that he’ll be getting the Beck who starred for Georgia before his unfortunate injury and transfer. He can’t wait to see it all develop, too, and talked about that as a guest on Greg McElroy’s Always College Football podcast on Thursday.

“He’s a highly skilled guy. We feel like we are getting the best version of him. We feel we can protect him really well. So much of our stuff is NFL-oriented. He’s going to be surrounded by some really good skill guys. Systematically, it just really fits what we do really well. That marriage, I think, is going to be awesome for Miami. He’s healthy. He looks great,” Cristobal told McElroy.

In just a few short months, Beck will be throwing the ball at fall camp, under Cristobal’s watchful eye, and that Beck-Miami marriage will begin officially.
