Mark Ingram picks Alabama to beat LSU, outlines keys to Tide victory
The Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers are playing to avoid a potentially devastating third loss this weekend in Baton Rouge. Whoever wins Saturday’s matchup will feel great about its CFP chances. The loser, though, will start sweating and will lie on precarious turf.
Many analysts are crowning LSU as the most dangerous team in the country. They, presumably, think the Tigers will beat Alabama. Mark Ingram, unsurprisingly, isn’t in that boat. He believes the Crimson Tide will top the Bayou Bengals and explained how they’ll do so on The Triple Option podcast.

“This is what we do. Start fast, get on the board early. Cause a turnover,” Ingram said. “Protect Keelon Russell, please… some positive yardage on early downs… we do this, play tough defense, dominate the line of scrimmage… we beat LSU. Close one, 31-28.”
The first portion of Ingram’s script is exactly what transpired when Alabama made its bus trip to Starkville to battle Mississippi State. Defensive coordinator Kane Womack’s unit forced a fumble on the Bulldogs’ first drive to set up an offensive score, then snagged a pick-six on its second possession. Replicating that performance would go a long way toward winning in Baton Rouge on Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC).
