Mark Ingram does not have a problem lobbing some trash talk toward Georgia as the budding rivalry continues into the offseason following Georgia’s national championship win over Alabama.
Ingram, the former star Alabama running back, on Twitter Spaces said Georgia should thank Alabama for its national championship because Kirby Smart coached with the Crimson Tide before he left for his alma mater.
“The only reason they even have a national championship is purely because their head coach came from โBama. So they should be thanking โBama,” Ingram said. “Weโre going to be back there again. I donโt know about them but weโre going to be back again.”
Since both teams are expected to start the season ranked in the top 5, as Alabama is widely expected to be the preseason No. 1-ranked team, future meetings are expected. The only question is if the favorites to return to Atlanta and the SEC Championship will also meet again in next season’s College Football Playoff.
