It’s the offseason, and Notre Dame football knows how to have fun.

Or to be precisely accurate, Notre Dame’s support staff and social media team knows how to have fun.

In a truly hilarious social media clip, members of the Notre Dame staff attempt the 40-yard dash, each narrated by Harris Bivin from assistant tight ends coach Harris Bivin. Representatives from the recruiting department, offense, defense, training and more — including an adorable dog named Eli — each tried their hand in this incredible 4-minute video.

Check it out:

As you can see, each representative who ran the 40-yard dash was asked to guess their time beforehand. I was actually pretty surprised to see most of the runners came pretty close to their predicted times. Shaun Shivers, a former Auburn running back and current Irish assistant who ran the fastest of the humans in the group, predicted he would run a 4.8, and he ended up running a blistering 4.82.

If you’re wondering, Eli (the dog) ran a simply incredible 4.19, a few ticks faster than the quickest 40-time in NFL history, Xavier Worthy’s 4.21 in 2024.
