Miami fans called out for empty seats at No. 1 UM’s Saturday home ACC game
Miami sports fans have been known to show up late, leave early or, in Saturday’s case, not show up at all.
Despite the Hurricanes ascending to the No. 1 ranking last week and despite a pretty good Pittsburgh team coming to Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday to take on those top-ranked Canes, Miami fans left something to be desired.
According to the camera shots provided by Emma Vance, a reporter for Polymarket Sports, there were quite a bit of empty seats during Saturday’s Week 8 ACC clash in South Florida.

“There is nobody at the Miami game,” posted Vance on her social media, complete with a laughing emoji to illustrate her feelings over the whole thing.
Packed house or no packed house, the lousy attendance didn’t matter much in the result of the game. Miami steamrolled Pitt, 52-23, to improve to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the ACC.
Perhaps as the season progresses and the Hurricanes get closer to the College Football Playoff, those Canes fans will start showing up. But for now, the shock factor was there despite it being a noon ET start in Miami.
For Vance, the early start time was no excuse with the Hurricanes having such a special season so far.
