The FWAA-Super 16 poll has a distinct Big Ten look to it after Week 8’s college football games.
Miami remained at No. 1 after a 52-23 win over Pitt. But three B1G teams found themselves in the top 5: No. 2 Ohio State, idle after Week 7’s win against Indiana; No. 3 Georgia, also off ahead of Week 9’s game against Florida in Atlanta; No. 4 Indiana, which held off upset-minded Michigan; and No. 5 UCLA, a 28-10 winner against Michigan State.

The Bruins were among the big movers. Bob Chesney’s team was No. 9 a week ago but jumped four spots into the top five. Utah also climbed four spots to No. 7 after previously being No. 11. BYU, meanwhile, slipped from No. 3 to No. 8 after an upset loss at UCF. The biggest drop belonged to Texas Tech, which plunged from No. 7 to No. 14 after losing to Cincinnati.
Three teams are ranked in Week 8 after no ranking in Week 7. Texas is ranked No. 11 after beating Ole Miss, No. 13 in the poll, 34-27. LSU‘s 38-17 win over Auburn lifted them from the “others receiving votes” category to No. 12. Wake Forest routed Cal 41-7 and was ranked No. 15.
