Michael Smith, 4-star TE for 2024, includes 5 SEC schools in Halloween-themed top 8

Michael Smith, a top 10 tight end from the class of 2024, trimmed his recruiting list to 8 teams on Monday.
The Savannah (Ga.) Calvary Day School product is a 4-star recruit, the No. 6 tight end in the country and the No. 24 overall player in the state on the 247Sports Composite. He announced his top 8 teams late Monday afternoon, with 5 of those from the SEC: Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Future SEC program Texas is also in the mix along with Ohio State and Penn State from the B1G.
Through 7 games in his junior season, Smith has made 15 catches for 349 yards and 8 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he totaled 42 catches for 684 yards and 9 scores. The Cavaliers are currently 8-0 on the season.
