Mike Elko explains why Kyle Field is a ‘bucket list’ place to watch a game

Texas A&M’s Kyle Field is an incredible place to watch a football game.
While the stadium’s SEC-leading capacity of 102,733 fans is certainly impressive, those fans themselves make up the experience. First-timers leaving the stadium often describe an almost cult-like following — complex chants in unison, constant energy and the 12th Man towels waving make it, as Aggies head coach Mike Elko described it on Wednesday, “just a different atmosphere.”
Elko is excited to open Texas A&M’s season at Kyle Field against the Missouri State Bears this Saturday at 7 p.m. under the lights. Before the Aggies kick off the 2026 season, though, Elko spoke a little more about Kyle Field and the advantage it brings Texas A&M.
“There’s nothing like it. … The first time you walk out in Kyle Field and see the towels waving and the music beating, it’s just a different atmosphere,” Elko said on 103.5 The Fan, via TexAgs. “They stand. They’re crazy. The energy is unbelievable. It’s a bucket-list place to watch a game.”
The Aggies get 7 games at Kyle Field this season, including the following SEC matchups: Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee and Texas. In addition, the Aggies are set to host Missouri State, Arizona State and The Citadel.
