The Mississippi State Bulldogs enjoyed a week off with a bye on Saturday, but the Bulldogs remain ranked in the top 15 of Sunday’s updated Associated Press and Amway Coaches’ Polls.

Mississippi State jumped all the way to No. 12 in the new AP Top 25 and also jumped to No. 14 in the new Coaches’ Poll. The rise in both polls comes one week before the Bulldogs’ highly anticipated showdown with the Texas A&M Aggies, who executed a thrilling comeback to top Arkansas in overtime on Saturday. Texas A&M is ranked No. 6 in the AP Poll and No. 7 in the Coaches’ Poll.

The Bulldogs are one of seven SEC teams ranked in the Coaches’ Poll and one of eight SEC teams ranked in the AP Poll, as well as one of six SEC West teams ranked in both polls. They have seven SEC games remaining on the schedule, four of which are against teams listed in the most recent AP Poll.
