Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves was as excited as anybody last night after Ole Miss picked up a huge win against former coach Lane Kiffin and LSU. Not only has there been a ton of animosity between the fans and schools, but the beef has leaked into politics.
After the game, Reeves posted on social media taking a shot at LSU.
“What does a $54 million buyout for the old coach, a $91 million contract for the new coach, and a $50 million roster get you,” Reeves posted. “An a-s whipping in Oxford, Mississippi!
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry has played a huge role at LSU over the past few months, and was even a big reason why Kiffin became the head coach at LSU. He has also been very vocal on social media the last few weeks, and he did give a shoutout to the Rebels last night for the victory.
This game had everything you could ever want in a sporting event. Many times when a game has this much hype, it doesn’t live up to expectations. Saturday night was different. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss had a fantastic game, finishing 33-of-48 for 363 yards and two touchdowns. Last night was something that the people in Mississippi will remember for a long time.
