Mississippi State football added the 10th prospect of its 2027 cycle on Tuesday with the commitment of Texas-based cornerback J’lynnd Kellow, who chose the Bulldogs over offer from programs such as Arkansas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.
Kellow hails from Willis, Texas, which is located north of Houston. He stands at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds and finished the 2025 season with 46 tackles and 2 forced fumbles according to 247Sports. He committed following an official visit on May 28.
โThe culture there really stood out to me,” Kellow told MSU writer Sam Spiegelman of his commitment. “Itโs real, itโs family, and you can feel it as soon as you step on campus.โ
Kellow is the 5th defensive back addition of the cycle for the Bulldogs, joining 3-star prospects Brandon Allen Jr, Hudson Fuqua, Trae’kerrion Collins and Julian McDonald. That makes up half of Mississippi State‘s 2027 cycle, which ranks 53rd overall according to 247Sports.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Kellow is considered to be the No. 1030 overall prospect in the Class of 2027, as well as the No. 96 cornerback and No. 134 prospect from the Lone Star State.
