Mississippi State QB Kamario Taylor releases statement on missing remainder of 2026 season
The 2026 college football season couldn’t have gotten off to a better start for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Head coach Jeff Lebby‘s team opened the campaign with four straight wins on the back of quarterback Kamario Taylor’s exciting play.
Unfortunately, since Taylor started dealing with a toe issue, the Bulldogs have experienced a significant downswing. He was hampered in Mississippi State’s loss to Alabama, missed the game vs. LSU and left the team’s defeat vs. Oklahoma after reaggravating the injury. On Tuesday, the Bulldogs ruled Taylor out for the remainder of the year with turf toe, an ailment Taylor spoke about trying to overcome in the school’s press release.
“Over the last few weeks, I’ve worked every day with our medical staff and done everything possible to be out there with my teammates. Missing the rest of this season is hard to accept, but I know God has a plan,” Taylor said. “My role will look different these next several weeks, but my commitment to this team won’t change. I’ll do whatever I can to help my brothers… I need the Bulldog Family to do the same. Have these guys’ backs the same way you’ve always had mine.”
“I couldn’t ask for better people in my corner than my family, Coach Lebby, our incredible medical staff and Bulldog fans. Their care, support and love mean everything to me,” Taylor continued. “There’s a lot of football left, and I’m all in with my guys. Starkville is home, and I can’t wait to be back playing the game I love.”
