When Mississippi State takes the field against No. 7 Alabama, it will be looking for one of the program’s biggest wins in some time.

The Bulldogs, No. 16 in the AP Poll, haven’t beaten a Top 10 team since 2014. That year, they did it three weeks in a row, eventually reaching their first No. 1 ranking in program history. The quarterback that year? Dak Prescott.

It’s probably no coincidence, then, that Mississippi State’s current QB, Kamario Taylor, is reaching levels of hype not seen in Starkville since Prescott. And that hype will only grow if the Bulldogs can beat the Crimson Tide, who have a dynamic quarterback of their own in Keelon Russell.

On Thursday, the Bulldogs released their uniform combinations for Saturday’s game, shown off by running back Fluff Bothwell:

Beating the Tide could be a feat in and of itself for the Bulldogs. Mississippi State enters Saturday having lost its last 16 games against Alabama. That includes the last meeting between the two programs, a 40-17 Alabama win in 2023.

The Bulldogs’ last win over the Crimson Tide was a 17-12 victory in 2007, Nick Saban’s first season at Alabama. That one featured a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown by the Bulldogs’ Anthony Johnson.
