Missouri earned a huge victory in the transfer portal on Saturday afternoon, signing ex-Miami linebacker Bobby Washington, according to a report by CBS Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz.

Making the reported signing more impressive is that Washington is a Miami native who was a former 4-star recruit. He played in 14 career games for the Hurricanes, but now he’s reportedly headed to the SEC to play for Eli Drinkwitz as the Tigers try to reload for the 2026 season.

Washington is the 2nd linebacker from Miami to commit to Mizzou in just the past week. He’ll join fellow linebacker Malik Bryant as well as defensive lineman Donta Simpson as former Hurricanes who are heading to Columbia for the 2026 season.

Making those 14 appearances for the Hurricanes over 3 seasons, with 1 of them being a redshirt, Washington registered 7 total tackles and half a sack.

Washington was a 3-star prospect coming out of high school in Miami, and he decided to stay close to home in playing for the Hurricanes. But injuries swallowed up Washington’s 2025 season, and he decided on Tuesday to enter the transfer portal.

Now, Washington will get a fresh start in Columbia and in the SEC, leaving his home state and home area to compete for a starting linebacker spot next fall.
