Mizzou’s defensive back room welcomed a key addition to the fold on Saturday, as Washington State transfer Stephen Hall committed to the Tigers. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Hall, a Memphis native, started his collegiate career in the JUCO ranks as he was part of the Northwest Mississippi CC roster for 3 seasons. He played in a total of 24 games in that span, including an abbreviated 6-game season in 2020. In 2022, he was credited with 6 passes defensed and 24 tackles.
He then transferred to Washington State to continue his career at the FBS level, posting 20 stops and 3 tackles for a loss in 2023. In 2024, he recorded 50 tackles, 4 TFLs, and a 100-yard pick-6, the longest interception return in school history. On Sept. 7 against Texas Tech, he made 11 tackles, a career high.
Now, Hall will finish things out in the SEC. He joins a Mizzou team that finished 10-3 in 2024, making it back-to-back double-digit win years for the Tigers for the first time since 2013 and 2014 and for just the third time in program history.
That said, the Tigers let a College Football Playoff berth slip from their fingers, something they don’t want to repeat in 2025.
