Missouri had one of the best rushing attacks in college football last season, as running back Ahmad Hardy put together a special first season in Columbia. However, the Tigers need to become a more complete offensive attack, and coach Eli Drinkwitz is being very aggressive in the transfer portal.

The Tigers got an announcement from former Arizona State offensive lineman Josh Atkins, as the former Big 12 offensive lineman will be playing his final season in Columbia.

He was a 3-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite rankings in the class of 2021, choosing the Cougars over schools such as New Mexico, Liberty and North Texas.

He signed with Houston out of high school, but didn’t play in a single game. He transferred to Hawaii in 2023, and played one season there before playing the last two at Arizona State. During those three seasons, he started at left tackle in 39 consecutive games between the two schools.

One thing that helped bring Atkins to Missouri is that current Tigers offensive line coach Brandon Jones was the main recruiter for Houston when he signed there.

Atkins could play either tackle spot for the Tiers next season as he gives Drinkwitz more options to build a dominant offensive line.
