Missouri made a big addition on the recruiting trail on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers have earned a commitment from 3-star defensive lineman Dami Sowunmi. An Indiana native, Sowunmi chose Mizzou over programs like Kansas State, Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Michigan and several other power-conference programs.

Sowunmi is currently a 3-star prospect, but is on the cusp of 4-star status. He’s ranked as the No. 438 overall player and the No. 51 defensive lineman in the nation for the class of 2027, per 247Sports Composite rankings. As of publication, the Composite has awarded 4-star status to over 400 prospects in the class of 2027.

Sowunmi attends Brownsburg High School in Brownsburg, Indiana. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds. He is also ranked as the No. 11 player in the state of Indiana for this class.
Mizzou now has 10 high school commitments in the class of 2027. The Tigers are expected to continue adding high school recruits over the coming weeks and months.
Prospects in this cycle can officially sign with their chosen programs during the Early Signing Period in December.
